Rules and Regulations

Fees and deposit

  • The 2024 / 2025 registration fee will be $675 for skaters and $200 for goalies. Skaters must pay a minimum $300 deposit and goalies must pay the full $200 fee no later than September 1, 2024. Any remaining balance will be required by November 1, 2024.
  • All payments are to be submitted via e-transfer to [email protected], along with a note indicating your full name and your team name.

Game times and location

  • All games will be played at Tom Brown Arena. Game times are 7:00PM, 8:00PM and 9:00PM.

Gameplay

  • All games will be allocated a 50-minute time slot and will consist of a 2-minute warmup and two periods of gameplay: the first being 23-minutes run-time and the second being 25-minutes run-time. In cases where the goal differential is 2 or less, the last 2-minutes of the game will be stop-time.
  • A minor penalty will be assessed at 2-minutes, a double-minor at 4-minutes and a major at 5-minutes (And subject to rules below).
  • As in previous years, general gameplay should be kept in accordance with the Laroche Park Hockey League Code of Conduct.

League Rules

  • Any player(s) disrespecting on/off-ice officials will result in suspension and or expulsion from the League without reimbursement.
  • Any player(s) dropping their gloves with intent to fight will be assessed a minimum 3-game suspension regardless if a fight takes place.
  • Any player(s) fighting will result in expulsion from the League without reimbursement.
  • Any major penalty will result in a suspension pending league review, not limited to expulsion from the League without reimbursement.
  • Any player(s) with past suspensions will result in additional suspensions for any further infractions, not limited to expulsion from the League without reimbursement, and subject to league review and decision.
  • All other hockey infractions will be dealt with by the Captains in consultation with League Executives.

Playoffs

  • To be eligible for playoffs, all players must be paid in full. Any player who is having financial difficulties may speak confidentially with the league Executive to make a payment schedule.
  • Spare players must be discussed and agreed to between captains prior to the start of any playoff game.
  • Any forfeited game will result in a 2-0 win for the opposing team.
  • If, for any reason, a team requires a replacement player, it must be discussed and agreed to by all team captains.

Code of Conduct

  • Respect for all players and officials.
  • Respect for Captains and Executives.
  • Play the game within the rules.
  • Respect that players are going to work tomorrow.
  • Have fun.
